What the Service is — and is not
Yes Car No Car helps you understand a used vehicle before you buy or while you own it. You provide a vehicle identifier (such as a VIN) and details about the vehicle, and we produce a plain-language assessment and, for paid reports, a detailed pre-purchase report drawing on available vehicle data and current market research.
The Service provides informational opinions only. It is not:
- a mechanical inspection or a substitute for one;
- an appraisal, or a guarantee of a vehicle's value, condition, or history;
- legal, financial, or professional advice.
You are solely responsible for your decisions about buying, selling, keeping, or repairing any vehicle. We strongly recommend an in-person inspection by a qualified mechanic before any purchase. Always verify open recalls directly with the manufacturer, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), or Transport Canada using the vehicle's VIN.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You create an account using your email address; we send a one-time code to verify it (there is no password). You are responsible for keeping access to your email secure and for activity under your account. One account per person.
Purchases, credits, and pricing
Some features are free and some are paid. Paid features are sold as one-time purchases or credits (for example, a single detailed report, or a pack of model-level checks). Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may change over time; changes do not affect purchases already made. Applicable taxes may be added.
Purchases are made through the app store you downloaded from — the Apple App Store or Google Play — using its in-app purchase system. That platform processes your payment under its own terms; we do not receive or store your card number.
A paid report is generated on demand and draws on paid third-party vehicle data and computing resources at the time you request it. See the Refund Policy for how refunds work, including automatic credit restoration when a report cannot be produced.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to violate anyone's rights;
- resell, redistribute, scrape, or commercially exploit reports or data except as permitted for your own personal use;
- attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours, or interfere with or probe the Service's security or infrastructure;
- submit identifiers or information you have no right to submit.
Your content and reports
You retain ownership of the information you submit. You grant us a license to use it to provide and improve the Service. Reports we generate for you are licensed to you for your personal, non-commercial use; we retain ownership of the underlying software, templates, and methods.
Third-party data
Vehicle history, recall, and market information come in part from third-party sources and public databases. This information may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate, and a lack of records does not mean a vehicle has no history. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party data, and we present it on an "as available" basis.

THE SERVICE AND ALL REPORTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY ASSESSMENT OR REPORT IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR RELIABLE, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BACKED WISELY INC. AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM YOUR PURCHASE, SALE, OR OWNERSHIP OF A VEHICLE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE IT AROSE, OR (B) US $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Backed Wisely Inc. harmless from claims and expenses arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
Termination and account deletion
You may delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete my account), which permanently removes your account and personal data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Changes
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
